개요

1인 게임 개발자 rittzler가 언리얼 엔진 5로 개발한 3D 플랫포밍 액션 게임이다.

초기엔 itch.io에서 열린 ‘Metrovania Month 19’라는 게임 잼에 출품된 작품이었다. 제작 기간은 3주였다.

해당 게임 잼에서 5점 만점에 4.563점이라는 높은 점수를 기록하여 우승작이 되었다.

재미, 메트로이드배니아, 종합 점수, 디자인부문의 점수가 모두 1등이었으며 프레젠테이션 부문만 2등이었다.

이 높은 성적에 힘입어 좀 더 발전된 버전의 게임을 제작하였으며, 상업적으로 출품된 것이 바로 현재의 Pseudoregalia이다.

2020년대의 게임 엔진인 언리얼 엔진 5를 사용했음에도 그래픽이 복고풍이라, 닌텐도 64 시절의 게임이 떠오른다는 리뷰가 많다. 복고풍이란 컨셉에 맞춰 설정에 기본적으로 애니메이션 프레임을 제한하고 있다. 해당 설정을 해제하면 부드러운 프레임으로 캐릭터가 움직이는 것을 볼 수 있다.

2024년 3월 2일 새로운 맵, 미니맵 기능등이 포함된 업데이트가 이루어졌다.

등장인물

• 시빌(Sybil)

본작의 주인공.

상의는 셔츠만 입고 있으며 하의에는 아무것도 입지 않고 있다. 이런 노출에 거부감이 있거나 노골적인 퍼리 요소가 싫은 유저들을 위해 옵션에서 바지를 입힐 수 있다.

황폐화된 지하감옥(Dilapidated Dungeon)

플레이어가 처음으로 들어오는 지역으로 수많은 철창들이 공중에 매달려있으며 어린 염소들이 감옥에 갇혀있다. 게임 방식을 알려주는 튜토리얼적 성격이 강한 지역으로, 기본적인 조작방식을 사용하여 던전을 돌파해나가면 자연스럽게 다음 지역으로 나아갈 수 있다.

새 업데이트와 함께 추가된 NPC로 업데이트로 추가된 갑옷의 위치를 알려주는 힌트를 준다.

능력

• Dream Breaker

Press X Button/Left Click
Attack freely while moving, to vanquish foes.. Hitting enemies will build up magical power.
To use it, hold B Button/F Key to heal.
Extra Notes...
Sybil will automatically hit whoever is closest, though you can also Lock-On with RB/Right Click.
Your weapon can be dropped, or thrown with LB/tab. If you ever lose it, you can recall it at a save point by holding down the heal button.

• Slide

Press Left Trigger/Q Key on the ground to Slide.
Gain a boost of speed, and slide under tight gaps and some attacks.
But by itself, an incomplete technique.

• Indignation

Higher Power gives you increased combat capabilities.
Upon reaching power level 2, the range of your attack is extended.
At level 3, your damage is increased.
This is reset upon spending it on a heal.

• Memento

Press D-Pad Up/Tab to see your mental map
To move the map, press LockOn + Move Camera while active.
Rooms will be revealed to you as you enter them, allowing you to more easily chart a course through an area.

• Sun Greaves

Press A Button/Space bar while in the air.
After a short delay, do an air kick. Hitting walls and objects with it will cause you to jump away. Can be done up to 3 times until reset.
Try kicking early to maximize distance!
Extra Notes...
The angle you come off of a wall is a reflection of the angle you are facing when you make contact. Don't try to push away from the wall until you bounce!
If the angle is close to perpendicular, your jump will be higher but send you less far.
Try to kick so that your foot hits the wall, not your body, for maximum distance.
You can even kick quite early, so long as you touch the wall before the action ends.
Timing, spacing, and angle are all important!

• Solar Wind

Jump while Sliding.
Completes the technique of the slide. Cross long distances with a airy long jump.

• Sunsetter

Press LT/Q key while in the air to Plunge downwards, which can then chain into a High Jump.
Use this to break through fragile floors or simply stop yourself in the air.
Jumping right after the Plunge will result in a High Jump.
Extra Notes...
You can jump right after you start up the plunging action, which will cancel it into a backflip.
This can only be done once until reset, so be careful!

• Strikebreak

• Cling Gem

Press RT/Left Shift while falling along walls to Ride them
Hold tight to walls while you propel yourself a short distance. Can be jumped out of, and can go around curved walls and coners.
Extra Notes...
You can Wall Ride 6 times until reset.
Activation is easier when you move along walls, not directly into them.

맵 곳곳에 있는 크리스탈로 한 면이 하늘색, 다른 한 면이 옅은 분홍색으로 빛난다.

무기로 공격하는 것으로 현재 진행 상황을 저장할 수 있다.

• 파괴가능한 벽

벽에 금이 가있어 무기로 공격해서 파괴할 수 있는 벽이다. 다만, 금이 검은색으로 표현되는데 어두운 벽과 합쳐지면 금이 잘 안보인다.
따라서 금으로 파괴가능한 벽인지 구분하는 것보다 벽이 약간 움푹 들어가있는가로 파괴가능한 벽인지 판별하는 것이 더 편하다.

• 레버

맵 곳곳에 있는 레버로 무기로 공격하는 것으로 레버 손잡이를 다른 방향으로 밀어낼 수 있다.
대개 벽을 움직이기 위해 사용된다.
